“Thanks to The Green Goal company, Poggio di Montedoro Agritourism received the Green Key eco-label, which represents for us a source of great pride and an added value for our establishment. It is an honor to be the first farm holiday to be certified in Italy ” – states Gianluca Scagnetti, the owner of the establishment.
In light of this enthusiasm, The Green Goal marking in Italy another success: a new certification issued and a new satisfied customer.
The Green Key eco-label is now present in 57 countries with more than 2,900 establishments around the world. There are several categories certified by the prestigious eco-label: from the big luxury hotels chains – such as the giant Starwood – to the Resorts with spa, to embrace campsites and small hotels.
“The release of the eco-label for Agriturismo Poggio di Montedoro marked the beginning of a new path in the history of Italian farm holidays and The Green Goal company – says the founder Giulia Fontebasso De Martino – could only welcome this new challenge. The agrituorism in all its aspects – she continues -, being included in the context of a farm, has all the possibilities to raise the economy of rural areas to rediscover the beauty of the landscape, the contact with nature and the ancient traditions of the Italian cuisine with zero kilometers food”.
The United Nations proclaimed the 2017 as the International Year of Sustainable Tourism, but for The Green Goal every day of the year is an excellent day to promote the sustainability of the tourism offer.
